some more working in illustrator, this time trying out textures, which i rarely- if ever use ^^
'da funk' by daft punk was the song playing when i started it, so i used the words (in mutlu ornamental font) as a brush, and as a stroke on most of this
this looks really cruddy on a pc screen, i adjusted colors a bit to fix this but...meh

Slick!!! This is definitely da funk. 
If I could suggest for draft 2...Kill the blue arrows on the guitar, and maybe add a round depth shadow inside using the two browns. Also, taking out the stroke on the shirt and pants will give the parts on the arm and hat a stronger textural presence. The stroke is fine on the guitar and large wing. And I'd say the background is fine as is.
